Mindfulness
Mindfulness for your child is something you hear more and more these days. In fact, children increasingly need this.
Children are naturally open-minded. They are engaged with what is happening right now. Young children live in the here and now. They want to explore everything and are the child in its purest form.
As children get older, they become more shaped. This can happen through both positive and negative experiences. Unfortunately, more and more is demanded of children, which can lead to the child experiencing a lot of stress and sometimes losing themselves.
The child’s pure form is being worked on earlier and earlier these days, unfortunately with negative consequences. We have already written about how children’s yoga can have a positive effect on the development of the child. In the following we will explain in more detail what mindfulness can do for the child.
What complaints can occur?
The moment the child loses himself, you may notice a number of complaints that alert you to the fact that the child is out of balance.
Children may have behavioral problems and suffer from mood swings. He may also suffer from anxiety and sometimes suffers from various pain symptoms.

The following 6 points teach the child to become mindful:
- They learn to be present in the here and now. Here you are not judging the situation, you are just consciously present.
- You learn to observe. Here you remain aware of what is happening around you. Both positive and negative experiences pass you by, but you don’t let them affect you.
- You learn not to judge immediately and react to the situation. First, get an overview of the situation yourself and examine it from different angles. Be understanding toward yourself and others.
- Calm yourself. Relax. Leave all external stimuli aside for a while.
- Control your feelings, impulses and actions. Learn to deal with happiness, as well as fear, sadness and anger.
- Dare to trust yourself. You are unique and that’s why you make the world a little more beautiful. You get to be a part of it!
